A Powerful Line Sets the Tone:

‘Duniya mein mil jayenge ashik kahe, par watan se hasin sanam nahi hota. Hero mein simatkar, putra se lipatkar marate honge nekh, tirange se hasin kafan nahi hota…’ At the beginning of the film, Hrithik Roshan makes his intentions clear by uttering this line to his fellow fighter pilots. After the Balakot airstrike in 2019, several films were announced but most of the projects were shelved due to Corona. The film ‘Fighter’, inspired by the air strikes on Pakistani terrorist camps, was released five years after the incident.

Aerial Action Takes Center Stage:

‘Fighter’ is being called India’s first aerial action film. However, before this, a similar mission of the Indian Air Force was also shown in Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Tejas’, which was released last year. In the coming days, films based on the action missions of the Indian Air Force are coming. These include Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’ and Telugu actor Varun Tej’s ‘Operation Valentine’.

In the same fight, two Indian pilots Taj and Bash cross the LoC and are captured by Pakistan. You have to go to the theater to know the next story.

Review:

Director Siddharth Anand, who directed superhit films like Pathan last year and before that war, has made a good film on the Air Force. The film has a slow start. A lot of time has passed in introducing the characters. But the film picks up speed before the interval. In the second part, the story reaches a romantic mode. The climax of the film is terrific. Especially the tremendous action scenes of the fighter planes can thrill many times in the film.

The story of the film is good and Siddharth has portrayed it well. The film’s cinematography, VFX, and background score are also good. Somewhere in the film, the screenplay gets weak. The music of the film is also good. Some songs slow down the pace of the film. The length of the film could have been reduced to 15 minutes at the editing table.

As for the acting, Hrithik Roshan is seen in the role of a fighter pilot, and Deepika Padukone is back in a deadly look after Pathan. Anil Kapoor has also done justice to the character. Rishabh Sahani also plays the role of the villain. However, it has got less screen space. All the actors including Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi have done a good job.
